More Ways To Pay

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. We certainly did, made even more special by the arrival of our newest family member.

Today I decided to add some new methods for purchasing items and services on my website. I have always been inclined to do this, but until now I routed everything through my PayPal account since that felt like the safest, simplest option — and it made year-end tax reporting easier to manage.

The issue is that there are a few higher-priced pieces of art on my site that I wanted to make more accessible to potential buyers by offering instalment options like Klarna, which I’ve started to see on many other sites recently. Below is a screenshot from my test where you can see these new payment options now available.

I do give up a bit of profit by offering them, but honestly I already accept some fees with PayPal for the convenience and security their service provides. The new methods I’ve added are offered through the Squarespace platform and, thankfully, include that same secure processing — I wouldn’t have enabled them otherwise.

Anyway, I need to go and change a nappy.
