Automotive Colouring is a Winner
This looks familiar doesn’t it.
I was at the Running Retros meet at Headcorn Aerodrome in Trixie as Ellie is off getting some welding. For the first time, they had some trade stalls set up in the field. Obviously I went and had a look to see what was there and this small business caught my eye because how similar the setup is to mine. Clearly someone with taste.
This small business was set up selling car colouring-in books and colouring pencils. The man behind Automotive Colouring is Daniel Hack. He travels around with his stall in his company car, a Renault 11 GTL, in a lovely two-tone maroon and grey. Much like Ellie is my rolling office, Daniel has a similar setup, turning up to shows with excellent products that keep adults and kids alike very busy. His car even has its own claim to fame, starring in a TV show—how cool is that!
The first thing I thought of when I saw his product was that he would be really sought after at festival events like the amazing Volksweald at Penshurst Place where there will be loads of people wanting to keep their kids entertained.
With 30 pages in his books, there would be more than enough to last the long weekends when car enthusiasts are staring at engine bays or polishing their motors for show-and-shine competitions.
I particularly liked his latest idea for a colouring book of crappy cars.
We chatted about signage and advertisements as well as printing methods which was really helpful.
I noticed that he has an incredible following on Facebook. Very Impressive for a small business that only started in 2024. I have been going since 2010 and am pretty small in comparison online. I would say that my supporters tend to be in person at the events and car meets rather than online. I need to learn a thing or two about social media haha.
Summary
We should support small businesses instead of enriching big companies that sell mass‑produced junk. Businesses like Daniel’s.

I wish you all the best Daniel.
My purchase was The Blue Oval Classic Car Colouring Book obviously. I hadn’t even been in 5 minutes and Summer was already colouring. Clearly an excellent product.
